ReUseHeat Webinar on Low Temperature Policy
The Reuseheat project financed under the European H2020 framework, is generating knowledge on how excess heat from data centers, sewage water treatment, service sector buildings and metro stations in district heating systems. This kind of heat source is increasingly important to reach 2050 targets as fossil fuels are being phased out.
The project features four technical demonstration sites but also emphasizes the importance of understanding the urban waste heat investment risk, business model and contract. The project hosted a policy event on low temperature district heating recovery in Brussels which provided important input to the understanding of necessary urban waste heat boundary conditions. The input has been elaborated further with information collected during the project lifetime and a urban waste heat policy positioning paper is currently being drafted. At the upcoming webinar the results of this paper will be discussed. Input is sought for to further improve findings and issued that were not covered to date. The project invites to an interactive webinar where findings will be presented and discussed.
