Celsius Summit 2020 – Mission Possible!
Facilitating the Heat Transition in South East Europe & Beyond!
2020 is a year with many firsts: a world-wide pandemic that threatens our society, but also countries stepping up their climate ambitions and the European Union announcing the Climate Neutral Cities mission as well as many opportunities for cities with the Green Deal Policy Framework. The Celsius Initiative also has some firsts this year: co-creating the forerunner groups together with the Celsius Cities and the first virtual Summit – Celsius Summit 2020!
The Celsius Summit 2020 is co-organised with the North West Croatian Energy Agency (REGEA) and will put a clear emphasis on the region’s heat transition, its challenges and success stories and what role district heating and cooling networks will play. We will explore the “mission possible” – how to facilitate the urban heat transition – from different angles: on 9 December the programme focusses on funding aspects, with a multitude of new funding programmes available for Celsius cities and on 10 December, we will put the spotlight on the policy framework and what else is needed to make a fast and ambitious heat transition happen in South East Europe and beyond.
While the Celsius Summit 2020 will be organised online, we still strive to make it an occasion to come together as Celsius network, share knowledge and new developments and get inspired by the Celsius city success stories! Join our Celsius Summit to celebrate the first year of the Celsius initiative and meet the fellow Celsius cities and Celsius supporters because only together we can make the “mission possible”!
